Avenged Sevenfold gig 17/01/08

i jiust wanted to write a quick journal so say about my avenged sevenfold gig i went to last night..well to sum it up it was f**king amazing..me and leah got to the venue arounf half 11 as we had to get a later train than we wanted to so we turned up there thinking there would be loads of people there already so we were gob smacked when we saw there were 2 bloody people and thats it we looked at eachother and went omg omg this cant be real but it was so we got chatting to the 2 girls in front who were really nice,then a guy called russel came and we chatted to him too..then 2 more turned up who were called lauren and robin ,robin btw looked alot like syn hehe..they were so nice and we swapped emails which was good..ok a few hours of queueing passed until the doors opened and when they did all 7 of us ran the fastest we could to get to the barriers and we did it..for the first time in my life i found myself right at the front and it felt amazing...the first support band came on who were called black tide and they were really good and then blood simple came on who were also good..then the moment came for the mighty avenged to play and omg the crowd went wild and i could feel myself getting more and more squashed but i just didnt care..the guys were awesome and for those of you who really know me will know how much i love synyster and my mouth was open for ages after seeing what he looked like up close and my god he didnt disappoint hehe..he is awesome and its fasinating watching him play the hell out of that guitar..matt was outstanding his voice was simply the most powerful thing i have ever heard and he is sush a big guy i didnt realise how tall he was..zacky was so damn cute and puts so much effort into what he does but he was annoying cos he wouldnt stay still for me to take a pic..johnny was great and so was the rev,i wish i could have seen more of him..the place errupted when they did bat country and i loved watching syn's solo on it,scream was awesome and thats one of the songs i really wanted to hear then do,also sieze the day and i loved it cos zacky started the vocals off..leah my daughter nearly passed out at that point cos she has always wanted to hear him do that lol...by now the crowd was getting very intense and i was getting more and more squashed and my chest really started to hurt but i tried not to think about it..almost easy was amazing and i kinda turned into a loony by jumping around as i love that song so much..well nearly an hour and a half past and i knew it was nearly over so i started to feel a bit sad but then they did my ultimate song unholy confessions and i said to leah right you are filming this one cos i wanted to savour every moment and i did and i moshed with the best of em,leah said she was really proud of me awww...then that was it all over but i have so many amazing memories and i will never forget it EVER!!!we went outside and then we met up with our buzznet friend kat and it was so good to see her..us and the guys we met earlier hung around after in the hope we would see the avenged lads and we did yay!!! it was only brief but they walked past us to get on the tour bus and said hello but they didnt hang around to do any pics which was a shame but at least i have my memoeries of the most amazing day ever and my camera behaved and took some awesome pics and they will stay with me forever..thanks avenged sevenfold you are the best xxx

What A Difference A Year Makes

I i just wanted to say what a difference a year makes and write this just to say a huge thankyou to everyone that i have become friends with on here,this time last year i only had a few friends on hear but now i have so many amazing people that i call my closest friends..my daughter leah convinced me to get buzznet and i was unsure at first as i thought i was too old but once i got into it i loved it..i adore my chemical romance and it's a place where i can find videos and pics of my fav band and share them with others and chat to fellow fans for those of you who met up with me and leah in london at the gig a huge huge hug goes out to lynne,sam,tina,shivvy,jade,kat,lorraine and her son it was an amazing couple of days and it was amazing to of met you..lynne and sam even came down to stay with me for a couple of days and it was so good to spend time with them and lynne and mines friendship is very special and she has become my best mate and they are very hard to find you will be in my life always thanks for being so amazing ..sam her daughter is a little star and my mini mish you are such a lovely girl and your mum has done an amazing job bringing you up.and my lovely mate tina you have made me laugh so many times on here when i have been feeling down and you are an amazing giver of advice and a wonderful person and i know you are always there if i need a chat about anything..mon and deb my fav irish friends and fellow avenged sevenfold lovers,i always look forward to our chats and reading your comments on my avenged pics ..jo..i know we havnt chatted for ages because of certain things that went wrong but thanks for the friendship it meant alot..clara you are a truley lovely friend and i have missed you loads lately..nene you always make me smile..kat it was fab meeting you and your a a great friend..lorranine your a top person i love our frankie chats...i could go on and write things about all my closest friends on hear but it would take me all day so i hope you dont mind if i havnt mentioned you personally but i think the world of you all...finally to my 2 children leah and jamie thanks for being such great kids and putting up with your mad mother,you both keep me sane i love you,they both have buzznet accounts so i cant get away from them lol..well its been a weird year this year various things havnt been good and my mum hasnt been well at all but i always know i have this place and you all to come to escape to so thanks everyone and thanks buzznet xx

i just wanted to write this and say well done to my daughter leah (xmcrx06) she was given the honour of being awarded one of Buzznet's 10 Most Prolific Users of 2007.she is on here loads and i must admit i have moaned about her doing this sometimes as i get worried about how much time she spends on here rather than going out with her friends but she clearly loves it and it is a huge part of her life,she has made some amazing friends on here too.....she has had alot of illness lately and has been in a great deal of pain and i hope this makes her feel loads better..xxxxxx

My Chemical Romance's charismatic frontman singer Gerard Way explains why the Black Parade is finally over and he's planning a real Christmas this year.

You've just touched down for your Australian tour. Have you brought the full shebang with you?

We have, but we've brought a different shebang. We didn't bring Black Parade 'cos we stopped playing as Black Parade in Mexico (last month); we wanted to end it there. But we've brought a production, lights and pyro.

Was it a case of, if you put on the Black Parade suit one more time you'd scream?

That's pretty much what happened. The whole idea behind it was to make that record really come alive, really play as the band, put our money where our mouth was. To be quite honest with you, 10 shows of that would have proved our point. After a while it was like, we really don't wanna play as another band, we just wanna play as our band. And we don't necessarily wanna play this record front to back, we wanna play other stuff as well.

Without the Black Parade element, how will your Aussie shows work?

We play more of a mixed set. We play a couple of old songs too, and I'm pretty sure we'll be playing a song we've never really played live -- Desert Song -- which is an unreleased song off Revenge. We never had a chance at the time to record it.

My Chem have also had a few personnel problems recently. Who is missing from this tour?

Bob (Bryar, drums) is missing. Frank (Iero, guitar) is back. He went through some personal things at home, had a family emergency, so we lost him for four shows. Bob tried to come out, but his wrists hurt too bad. He flew all the way to LA from home. We met up at the airport before coming over here, and he said, "I'm gonna go home and go to the doctor again''. So we lost Bob. But Tucker, from our friends' band Thursday, is coming out.

You joined Linkin Park on the Projekt Revolution tour. Chester from Linkin Park says he sees a lot of similarities between his band and yours, particularly in the way people are finally coming to realise My Chem are the real deal.

That's an interesting thing to point out, because when a band comes out -- especially a band that has a large cultural impact, especially youth culture-wise -- people assume it's some weird new kind of niche music. But in actuality, kids have consistently throughout the history of music liked rock 'n' roll, and that's ultimately what it is. It takes a few years once a certain band has been out and had that impact for older fans to realise, "Hey, this is really no different from the bands I liked. It has different influences, it looks and sounds different, but it's rock 'n' roll''. There's almost like a hazing period.

Did you go into your shell at first, playing to Linkin Park's fans?

If anything it made us push harder, see how far we could really take 'em, especially with notions of sexuality. We're like, "Cool, they like us; now let's see if we push these sexual boundaries a little more how they're gonna react''. There was an extremely macho vibe in that crowd, and we were practically the biggest cupcakes on that tour, but they seemed to love it. I think they just needed a little razzle dazzle in their lives.

Why are you so big on pushing those boundaries of sexuality? You're a married man now.

Well, that's more of a recent thing (laughs). My wife totally backs the way I am on stage, that's one of the amazing things about her. I have 120 per cent respect for her when I'm on stage, so there are definitely certain things I would never do. But she knows my sexuality, and I know mine, so there's no reason not to push those boundaries. It's with the most noble intentions -- it's to make certain people realise just because somebody is a performer or slightly effeminate, -- even that guy at work or that kid at school -- there's no reason to shove 'em around. So much testosterone has been in rock for so long -- that's why I'm so interested in pushing it. All it boils down to is treating women like second-class citizens, calling people faggots, being borderline racist, if not totally racist. A lot of things are ingrained in the stupidest rock 'n' roll we completely oppose. So one way we can push it is through our sexuality.

Your marriage to Lyn-Z was a bit of a shock. When you spoke to Hit in July, you had just broken off an engagement to another girl. Come September, you were married.

I know! It's one of those situations where you don't know how your life's gonna go, and the minute you actually stop looking for something is when you find it. When I met my wife I was at a point where I was completely OK with being alone for a very long time, free of lousy people. I was very content to spend time with my friends, to work on music, to work on my comics. I was about to pack everything up and move to Portland, Oregon. And literally out of nowhere someone who I'd met four years ago when the band was a baby band, opening for her band, comes back into my life. We just picked up where we left off. It's always when you're not looking for it -- I was totally fine, and then I get hit over the head! It was like getting hit by a truck.

Does marriage mean you're actually able to make a home now?

Completely. I turned basically into a functioning grown-up overnight. I came off tour and started to set up a life. I'm very excited about that -- I actually have a life now when I go home, and it's an amazing life. I love that I have a best friend I can share it with, who I can work with and hang out with.

You spent last December in a hotel working on your comic book. It sounds as though you might have a real Christmas this year.

Yeah, I holed up in a hotel. I flew home for New Year's . . . God, I don't even remember what I did at Christmas, I don't even remember where I was. I definitely wasn't doing anything Christmas-like.
